Leonardo Castro is accused of assaulting a couple after breaking into Meriden’s apartment, police said.
Meriden. Police said the man was charged with breaking into an apartment and assaulting two people with a frying pan.
Leonardo Castro, 29, was charged with burglary, second-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, illegal possession of a firearm, conspiracy to commit a burglary and burglary, police said on Facebook.
“The victim said that Castro entered her apartment through the window. While she was sleeping with her boyfriend, Castro began to attack her and her boyfriend with a frying pan. During the attack, Castro also showed that he had a gun and he fled the house” , the police said. .
Police said they were also told that Castro had previously shot and killed a member of the victim’s family in the hallway outside the apartment.
“The shell went through the door of the apartment, several walls and got stuck in the wall,” the police said.
In this incident, Castro was charged with attempted assault in the first degree and possession of a firearm in the third degree.
