Ms Green suffered burns in the pressure cooker explosion while the lid of her Gourmia was still open under pressure and the heat released its contents.Gourmia claims in its user manual that the lid cannot be removed when the cooking unit is under pressure.Ms Green’s complaint said Gourmia failed to “adequately test” its pressure cookers and failed to adequately warn consumers of the dangers posed, even during normal use.”Gourmia failed to exercise general care in the manufacture, sale, warning, quality assurance, quality control, distribution, advertising, promotion … and marketing of its pressure cookers,” the complaint alleges.
