Johnson // Becker, PLLC files another Instant Pot lawsuit against Instant Pot brand company after defective Instant Pot pressure cooker explodes

stone.PAUL, Minn., May 25, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Johnson // Becker, PLLC is a national product liability law firm with experience representing victims of pressure cooker explosions. The company represents more than 500 customers who have suffered severe burns from exploding pressure cookers designed and sold by numerous manufacturers.
Johnson//Becker filed this complaint on behalf of Alabama resident Richard Riggs, alleging that Instant Brands, Inc., the maker of Instant Pot pressure cookers, misrepresented the safety of their pressure cookers.
Mr. Riggs’ Instant Pot pressure cooker exploded under pressure.Mr Riggs suffered severe thermal burns as a result of the explosion.According to the complaint, the Instant Pot is advertised as having a “safety mechanism” that prevents the unit from creating pressure if the lid isn’t closed properly, as well as removing the lid before all pressure is released. However, Mr Riggs claimed the Instant Pot pressure cooker had a flaw that allowed unsuspecting consumers to remove the lid while the cooker was still under pressure, causing piping hot contents to spray out of the unit.
The lawsuit was brought by Johnson // Becker, Michael K. Johnson, Kenneth W. Pearson and Adam J. Kress of PLLC.Michael K.
