A blind Forsyth man has been charged with assaulting a family member with a frying pan after he threw food out of it around midnight on July 25.
Here’s what happened, according to a Forsyth police report: Police were called to the home on Freeman Road following reports that 57-year-old Bobby Hardy was out of control. When Officer John Bogdan was called, the family said Hardy had escaped.Bogdan caught up with Hardy, who had a hammer tied around his waist.Hardy said the hammer was for protection.
A family member named Tera Hardy was bleeding over his left eye in the house and needed stitches. She said Bobby was going crazy and was throwing the pan with food all over the place. Then, he threw the pot to her.Two other family members, Barbara and Timothy Hardy, said they saw Bobby throw the pan and hit her in the face.
Terra then pointed to a hole Bobby had punched in the wall with his hammer, and he threatened to burn the house down.Bobby Hardy was taken to the Monroe County Jail and told police on the way there that they would be recalled when he came out. Then he said: “It’s not a threat. That’s a promise.”
